Gleeds wins cost management roles at Doncaster Royal Infirmary
Gleeds has been appointed as cost manager to the development of a new Unplanned Care Department and uprade of the Accident & Emergency (A&E) reception on behalf of Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The project at Doncaster Royal Infirmary follows the successful completion of a new Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) and includes the conversion of the hospital’s old CDU into an Unplanned Treatment facility, as well as the refurbishment of the main A&E reception area. The renovation will increase triage efficiency and provide more welcoming surroundings for patients.
Both projects will be undertaken in a live environment and Gleeds has been working closely with the Trust’s project management team in order to carry out the works as quickly and efficiently as possible. A phased approach to the programme will ensure minimum disruption to patients, visitors and staff and enable patients to be seen by the most appropriate clinical staff.
Gleeds has an excellent track record with the Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Previous projects include ward refurbishments and resilience projects such as the Electrical Infrastructure Strategy which is currently in feasibility stage.
Commenting on the latest appointments, Roger Pulham, Gleeds’ Director for Health said; “We are delighted to be involved with yet another project which will further enhance the facilities at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. This will help to dramatically improve the services and care provided to those using the hospital and we look forward to completing these new developments as soon as possible”.
