Clifton Triangle development gets green light

Gleeds has announced that plans for a mixed use development in the Clifton area of Nottingham have been approved by the City Council.

In a move that will create 134 jobs for the local community, Cedar House Investments plan to build 24 apartments, a Lidl supermarket, a cafe/restaurant and four retail units on the Clifton Triangle site in Nottingham which will create nearly £4m GVA annually.

Gleeds are providing cost management and employer’s agent services for the scheme and is utilising their experience on major retail developments and roll-outs to value engineer the development, from feasibility and tenant negotiations through to completion.

Anthony Cork, Director for Gleeds in Nottingham, said: “We’re excited to be involved in a project that will transform a relatively unused space into a development that will really make a positive contribution to the community. Not only will it provide a new urban hub for the people of Clifton, but it will help to boost the local economy and bring further investment to the region.”

Designed by DLG Architects, the scheme will be built on the former Fairham House site, previously owned by Nottingham City Council. The architect’s proposals aim to create attractive buildings within a well maintained landscapes that will be a real attribute to the growing area of Clifton.

Construction will begin on site in June and is due to complete May 2018.
